The Ozark folk tales of Vance Randolph will be the subject of a lecture on the University of Missouri-Rolla campus this Friday. The lecture is the second in a series to promote Ozarks culture at UMR. “Ozark Bawdy: Sex, Sexuality and Gender in the Folklore of the Ozarks” will be presented at noon this Friday, Jan. 30, in Room 204 McNutt Hall. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is presented by Dr. Anne Goodwyn Jones, the Maxwell C. Weiner Professor for the Humanities at UMR. KMST’s Jim Sigler talks with UMR’s Assistant Professor of English Kate Drowne about this Friday’s lecture, the rest of the series and how it all came together.
